Mahindra Holidays to Invest Rs 1,000 Crore in Uttarakhand’s Tourism Sector

Mahindra Holidays & Resorts India Limited (MHRIL), a leading vacation ownership company, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Government of Uttarakhand to invest Rs 1,000 crore in the state’s tourism sector. The investment will be used to develop four to five new resorts under the company’s flagship brand Club Mahindra.

The new resorts will be located in the hill stations of Jim Corbett, Mussoorie, Kanatal, and Binsar. They will offer a variety of amenities and facilities, including accommodation, dining, recreation, and wellness. The resorts are expected to create over 1,000 direct and indirect jobs in the state.

The MoU was signed by Kavinder Singh, Managing Director & CEO, MHRIL, and Satpal Maharaj, Minister of Tourism, Government of Uttarakhand, in the presence of other senior officials from both parties.

Speaking on the occasion, Singh said, “We are excited to partner with the Government of Uttarakhand to invest in the state’s tourism sector. Uttarakhand is a beautiful state with a lot to offer tourists. We believe that our investment will help to boost tourism in the state and create jobs for the local community.”

Maharaj said, “We welcome Mahindra Holidays’ investment in Uttarakhand’s tourism sector. This investment will help to create world-class tourism infrastructure in the state and attract more tourists from across the globe.”

The MoU was signed as part of the Uttarakhand government’s efforts to promote tourism in the state. The government has set a target of attracting 20 million tourists to the state by 2030.

MHRIL is a leading vacation ownership company with a portfolio of over 140 resorts in India and abroad. The company has over 2.8 million member families.

The investment by MHRIL is a significant boost for Uttarakhand’s tourism sector. The new resorts are expected to create jobs, boost the local economy, and attract more tourists to the state.
